Lora Diane Whobrey, age 71, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, (September
26, 2024) at her home in North Carolina. She was born on November 17, 1952 in Big Clifty, KY, the daughter of the late William and Betty Lou Hart Cain.

She was a registered nurse and retired in 2006 from Lincoln Trail Health Department. She worked in Dr. Duvall’s office from 1977 until 1986. She loved going to car shows with her husband, Lester, whom she married in1987. They enjoyed life together until his death in 2018.

Diane was married to the father of her children, Danny Armes, in 1972, until his death in 1985. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was a “karate grandma”. She enjoyed going to karate tournaments with them. Diane also would like traveling with her son-in-law, Jason, to car races. She loved to visit Florida. Her yard was her pride and joy, so she enjoyed doing yardwork. She was a member of the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church and attended Howell Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina.

She is survived by her son, Eric Armes and her daughter, Lora Beth Armes Miller (Jason); grandchildren, Addie and Andrew Miller, and Kaitlyn, Kira, George Walker and Katrina Armes; two brothers, Gary Cain (Jean ) and John Cain; two nieces and one nephew; and a very special life-long friend, Shirley Barton.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny Armes, and her
second husband, Lester Whobrey.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (October 4, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
