Fayetta “Faye” Brown, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Friday, (September 27, 2024) surrounded by family at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.
She was born on October 22, 1941 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Carlie and Nora Kerr Haycraft.
She was a homemaker, a farmer, and a retired lunch lady for the Clarkson school system, who enjoyed gardening, going to church, and spending time with her family. Faye was a lifelong member of Sulphur Wells “Snap” Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Brad Brown (Tricia) of Clarkson, KY; two daughters, Melissa Brown of Georgetown, KY and Greta Brown of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren, Joey Brown (Laura), Alisha Murray (John), Austin, Carlie & Chelsea Jeffries, and Riley & Tristan Stamper; six great-grandchildren, Clara, Cyrus, Soloman, Ellen, J.D. & David; one brother, Lanny Haycraft (Judy) of Clarkson; two sisters, Ineida Logsdon (Gene) & Marsha Metcalf (Harold), both of Clarkson; and a sister-in-law Sherry Haycraft, also of Clarkson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Freddie Brown; a brother, Wyman Haycraft; a sister, Sharon Meredith; and a nephew, Rodney Meredith.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (October 03, 2024) at the Sulphur Wells Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. Austin Wade will be officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and will move to Sulphur Wells Missionary Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
