Edmonson County deputies will be safer as the agency is receiving a grant to purchase body armor.

Sheriff James Vincent announced on Saturday in a social media post that his office “has been selected as a recipient of a grant” from the Kentucky Attorney General Office’s Body Armor Grant Program.

The grant will save the county approximately $20,000.

The Body Armor Grant Program “allocates $15 million to support law enforcement and first responders in acquiring vital safety equipment, including body armor, duty weapons, ammunition, electronic control devices, and body-worn cameras,” Vincent said.

”This grant award,” Vincent stated, “is crucial in ensuring our deputies are adequately equipped to serve and protect Edmonson County effectively and safely.”
