A tow truck driver has been killed on a Kentucky interstate while loading a vehicle onto a rollback tow truck.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident near the 124-mile marker of I-64 in Bath County Wednesday at approximately 5:20 p.m.

The investigation determined that 54-year-old Troy Caldwell, of Morehead, was loading a vehicle onto a rollback owned by Jerry’s Towing when he was struck by a tractor-trailer, state police said.

Caldwell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bath County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation also resulted in police arresting the semi driver, 29-year-old Shodmon Yuldashev, of Brooklyn, New York, and charging him with tampering with physical evidence.
