Johnie Anderson Decker, age 53 passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his residence.
Johnie was a Lineman for Groves Electrical Services and an avid outdoorsman. He loved being on the lake and fishing with family and friends. He also loved hunting deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, doves and quail. Johnie was known to always be a teacher of the outdoors and always wanted to enjoy every minute and capture every moment.
Johnie left behind a beloved girlfriend, Bobbi Mudd; three son’s, Jordan Decker (Taylor), Austin Hagan (Dorie), and Cody Saltsman (Sayler); a daughter, Kaylyn (Jarred); and six grandchildren, Harper, Archer, Ryder, Collyns, Clara and Cate to carry on his legacy on the water and to keep the old ways and family traditions going.
He is also survived by his loving father, Dudley Decker; a sister, Carolyn Mudd (Michael); four nephews, William Ramsey (Jackie), Nicolas, Mikey (Brandi) and Slaton (Becca); one aunt, Clydie Roof (Billy); and one uncle, Herman Constant.
His best fishing buddies, Alfred Goldsberry, Tony Campanell, Joe Blanton, Ken Freeman, Trenton Eastridge, Rocky Ravenscroft, Barrett Floyd, and many others.
Johnie was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Marie Constant Decker; a brother, Sidney James Decker; and many aunts and uncles that he loved.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Leitchfield Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Blanton officiating. Burial will be in Peonia Christian Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
