A Breckinridge County man indicted on a homicide charge following a crash that killed a Hardin County man has reached a plea deal.

In June 2022, Zackeri D. Duke, 20, of McDaniels, ran a stop sign while driving at excessive speeds at the intersection of North Logsdon Parkway and Hillcrest Drive in Radcliff when he struck a vehicle driven by 66-year-old U.S. Army veteran Wilburn R. Sisco, of Vine Grove.

Sisco died in the crash. A passenger in Sisco’s vehicle was injured in the wreck.

Duke was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury for reckless homicide and fourth-degree assault in November 2023.

Earlier this week, according to The News-Enterprise, Duke reached a plea deal where he was sentenced to five years on the reckless homicide charge and 12 months for the fourth-degree assault, with the sentences to run concurrently. Duke, though, was credited with the 14 months he served and will spend the remainder of the five-year sentence on probation.

Duke also forfeited his driver’s license and cannot drive for five years.
