A 20-year-old Hardin County man has been sentenced for forcibly raping a person incapable of consent or who was physically helpless.

Treyvon Bonmon Jr., of Elizabethtown, was sentenced in a Hardin County courtroom to 14 years in prison for raping the victim at an Elizabethtown residence on March 3, 2023, according to The News-Enterprise.

Bonmon raped the adult victim when she went to bed and Bonmon entered her room and “engaged in forced sex with the victim,” Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham told the newspaper.

He was arrested in September 2023 and charged with first-degree rape (victim incapable of consent/physically helpless), a class B felony. Bonmon was indicted on the same charge in September 2023.

He faced up to 20 years in prison.

Once he’s released, Bonmon must register as a lifetime sex offender with the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry.
