The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office has announced a partnership with Ohio County High School to promote law enforcement careers to youth.

“The Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program is designed for high school-aged youth interested in a future law enforcement career,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

Members of the programs will assist the sheriff’s office “through community service projects while learning about the many aspects of the criminal justice system.”

Othe activities include civic service, recreational programs and real-world training.

“We will provide a sound foundation for those who wish to pursue a career in this rewarding field. Our mission is to promote leadership skills, integrity, respect, honor, and selfless service,” the sheriff’s office said.

The program is open to students ages 14 to 18.
