Ohio County has received over $200,000 in funding from the state earmarked for job creation.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced that the funding, in the amount of $225,000, is intended not only for job creation but also to spur future investments in the community.

Ohio County Fiscal Court, on behalf of the Green River Regional Industrial Development Authority (GRRIDA), plans to use the funding to extend main road access along the Bluegrass Crossings Business Centre in Beaver Dam, the governor’s office said. GRRIDA will provide matching funds for the project.

“Over the past few years, we have established a new standard for economic success in Kentucky,” Beshear said. “This investment in Ohio County is the latest evidence of our commitment to continued economic prosperity in the commonwealth. I look forward to the next great announcement in this community.”

The funding is provided through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, which is overseen by the Cabinet for Economic Development.

“We truly appreciate the support of the state to invest in site development in Ohio County. This program is another great opportunity for us to grow,” Ohio Co. Judge-Executive David Johnson said.
