A Clarkson woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving drunk to a Leitchfield liquor store with three children in the car.

Leitchfield Police Officer Wally Ritter arrested 27-year-old Raven J. Turner at John O’s Liquors Saturday night at approximately 8:20 and charged her with her second DUI, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second-degree wanton endangerment, and failure to maintain insurance.

The arrest was initiated when employees of the liquor store alerted police that Turner “appeared to be drunk and had children in the car,” according to the arrest citation.

Ritter, quickly after arriving at the scene, made contact with Turner, who exited the store carrying a sealed bottle of rum.

Upon speaking with Turner, police said it was “clear that she was having trouble understanding me,” the citation states. She was, according to officers, “unstable on her feet and had slurred speech.”

She was given a field sobriety test and arrested.

Turner was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

According to police and online records, Turner was previously convicted of DUI in January 2023 in Grayson County.

LPD Officers Tamara Jupin, Jeff Jackson and Eric Miller assisted at the scene.
