Juvenile riding off-road motorcycle killed in collision with off-duty police officer

A juvenile riding an off-road motorcycle has been killed after being struck by a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer.

Kentucky State Police responded to the accident Saturday afternoon at approximately 11:45 on Hwy 27 near Old Norwood Road about two miles north of Somerset in Pulaski County.

The investigation, state police said, showed a Dodge Durango police vehicle, being driven by 31-year-old Lancaster Police Officer Derrick A. Glover, of Nancy, was traveling south on Hwy 27 when his vehicle collided with the rear of a Coleman 196cc off-road motorcycle, being driven by a juvenile.

The juvenile, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Cory Jones.
