A former pastor at a Lexington megachurch arrested on rape, sodomy and other charges is facing a new count following his recent indictment, according to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office.

Zachary Kings, 47, former executive pastor of LexCity Church, was indicted earlier this week by a Fayette County Grand Jury on first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor (victim under 18), third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, and first-degree sexual abuse.

King was originally charge in early July with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, and procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.

King is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl between January 2023 and April 2024. He admitted to the allegations under questioning by police.

He was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.

King, who resigned his position after being confronted about his behavior by parishioners, admitted to having sex with the girl at her home, his home, his car, and at the church.

At one time, the church boasted 5,000 members, according to The Roys Report.com, but, soon after King’s arrest, announced it is closing its doors.

The case was investigated by the Lexington Police Department and the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) unit.

Anyone with information regarding additional criminal conduct by King is encouraged to contact the DCI Hotline at 866-524-3672 or DCIForce@ky.gov.
