A Caneyville man granted pre-trial diversion has been arrested after fleeing from Kentucky State Police on a motorcycle.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning just after midnight when 28-year-old Johnathan T. Woosley ran a stop sign on a Honda motorcycle, according to a report by WNKY.com. When a trooper attempted a traffic stop, Woosley turned from N Lee Drive onto a one-way street and tossed a backpack.

The pursuit ended about five minutes later when Woosley reached the intersection of Grandview Street and Belmont Avenue as he ditched the motorcycle and fled on foot. The suspect, though, was soon captured and arrested.

He was charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the limit, and driving on a suspended/revoked operator’s license along with several moving and non-moving violations.

Woosley was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $6,000 cash bond.

The suspect, according to online records, was convicted in Grayson County in November 2022 for theft by unlawful taking (automobile). In April 2022, Woosley was placed on pre-trial diversion following his March 2022 arrest in Hardin County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence and DUI.

He is on probation until February 2027.
