Paul Cowles, 83, of Chalybeate, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024. He passed away at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky surrounded by his loving family.
He was the last of eleven children born to the late James H. Cowles and Minnie Ova Elizabeth Pennington Cowles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jane Cowles; an infant son, Paul Thomas Cowles Jr.; nine siblings and their spouses, Alice Johnson (Ray), Mildred Johnson (Kirby), Ralph Cowles (Dorlis), Nellie Windom (Kenneth), Ambrose Cowles (Pauline), Margie Watt (Jank), W. V. Cowles (Georgia), Merline Bledsoe (Getty), Alva Roger Cowles, Pete Watt, and a son-in-law, Bob Wood.
He was a construction worker and farmer. He was also a member of Boiling Springs Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will take place 10-2 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula Wood and Pam Heidelberger (Scott); a son, Thomas James Bowles (Tina); two granddaughters, Kasey Sweeney (Andrew) and Samantha Heidelberger (J.D.); a grandson, Zachary Bowles; two great granddaughters, Sophia and Layla; one sister, Evelyn Watt; and many nieces and nephews.
