A pilot from Kentucky has gone missing in the Bahamas.

Christopher Moore, 59, of Louisville, went missing on Sunday while approaching an airport in Marsh Harbour, his wife, Stacye Love, told WDRB.com.

Moore flew out of Sebastian, Florida, about 75 miles southeast of Orlando, in a single-engine Bristell aircraft and disappeared from radar while on approach.

The U.S. Coast guard and crews from the Bahamas searched the area on Sunday but without success. The search, Moore’s wife said, was called off on Monday.

Stacye Love said that the plane’s signal failed “and wasn’t reading on the radar,” WDRB.com reports.

Moore was last heard by three pilots as his plane flew about five miles from the Leonard M. Thompson International Airport.

Moore has been a pilot for nine years.
