A man has been struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on I-65.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the incident at the 38-mile marker of I-65 at Smiths Grove at approximately 9:00 Tuesday night.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found that a Kia Forte, being driven by 36-year-old Anthony Hodge, of Bowling Green, was traveling north when the vehicle hydroplaned due to the rainy conditions. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck the median, according to state police.

Hodge then exited his vehicle and was hit by a northbound semi, being driven by 64-year-old Alexander Kipnis, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Hodge was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Grant Robertson.
