The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office said the search for a missing 64-year-old woman remains underway but that police “are aware of a phone conversation that took place saying she was ok and didn’t sound to be in distress.”

Evelyn Blake was last seen Sunday night at approximately 10:00 in the 4000 block of Old Railroad Road about two miles south of McQuady in the Glen Dean area of the county. Blake, officials said, is thought to be suffering from the early stages of dementia.

The initial search operation was comprised of emergency management personnel from Grayson, Ohio, Hardin, Hancock, and Daviess counties, as well as multiple fire departments, including personnel from the Falls of Rough Fire Department.

On Tuesday night, though, it was announced that the search was being scaled back to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, Hardinsburg Fire Department and Breck Central EMS.

On Wednesday, the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that deputies are “still searching different locations for Evelyn Blake. We are aware of a phone conversation that took place saying she was ok and didn’t sound to be in distress. However, we are still seeking out different locations and will not stop until a law enforcement officer physically makes contact with her.”

Blake is five feet, one inch tall and weighs about 230 pounds. She was last known to be wearing a white shirt and tan shorts.

Anyone with information on her location is asked to contact the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office at 270-756-6266.
