Three Grayson County residents have been arrested in a major drug bust by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests, following a GCSO investigation, occurred Friday afternoon at approximately 3:45 at a residence in the 300 block of Shull White Road when police executed a search warrant and seized well over an ounce of methamphetamine, 11 gabapentin pills, needles, and scales along with other drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest citation.
In a vehicle in the driveway occupied by 20-year-old Leeann Hale, of Caneyville, and 19-year-old Cheyenna M. Walker, of Leitchfield, officers found a bag containing a “brownish white substance … and a needle” that someone had attempted to destroy, the citation states.
Besides Hale and Walker, police arrested 41-year-old Charles Thomas Gibson, of Leitchfield, a convicted felon.
Gibson was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Walker, whose home address was the where the search warrant was executed, was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hale was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects are lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
The GCSO, including Sgt. Jordan Jones and Deputy Sean Fentress, was assisted by the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force in executing the search warrant.
According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Gibson was convicted in Grayson County on June 28, 2017, for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and two counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was sentenced to three years in prison and served roughly 60 percent of the sentence before being paroled.
Officers, in that case, found multiple items related to drug trafficking inside Walker’s vehicle, as well as Tramadol, an opioid pain medication and schedule IV controlled substance. The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force obtained a search warrant for Gibson’s residence and located additional drug paraphernalia related to drug trafficking, according to police.
