The Grayson County High School football team will induct seven former athletes into the program’s wall of fame.

James Gaither, Will Marshall, Kevin Phelps, Brian Sandlin, Brian Soverns, Brad Meredith, and Brian Grant will join the prestigious group of gridiron Cougars.

This year’s group puts a focus on the teams between 2000-2007.

“This class finishes up Coach Danny Clark’s time, Coach Keith Graham’s years, and the beginning of Coach (Ed) Smart,” current assistant coach Kevin Embry said. “As always, many were considered and this list in no way is meant to exclude or diminish all the others who played and contributed to our program during this time.”

Each player who has been inducted into the wall of fame will have their name placed on a board that hangs in the team’s locker room.

The induction ceremony will be held prior to Grayson County’s football scrimmage against Spencer County on August 16 at around 6:15 p.m.
