Kentucky State Police continue to investigate after a Marshall County man was found shot to death at his Possum Trot home.

State police on Thursday received information from the U.S. Forestry Service regarding an abandoned vehicle in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Troopers then conducted a welfare check on the vehicle’s owner, 44-year-old Jesse A. Moore, at his Possum Trot residence.

“Troopers responded to a residence in the Possum Trot area of Marshall County to attempt to make contact with Moore,” state police said. “When they arrived at the residence … they located (Moore) who appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound.”

A $1,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the individual or individuals responsible for Moore’s murder.

Anyone with information regarding Moore’s murder is asked to contact KSP at 270-856-3721. Information may also be provided anonymously through West Kentucky Crime Stoppers by texting WKY to 738477. Anyone with information may also contact WKY Crime Stoppers at 270-444-TELL.
