The identity of the worker killed at Metalsa has been released.
Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham said the worker who died on Tuesday afternoon was 59-year-old Franklin Logsdon, of Campbellsville.
Logsdon’s death, after he apparently fell into “some type of chemical holding tank,” according to Denham, comes only two years after 24-year-old Lance Winemiller, Elizabethtown, died after being struck by a forklift on June 7, 2022.
Logsdon was found after a 90-minute search when he failed to clock out from his shift on Tuesday afternoon.
No foul play is suspected in Logsdon’s death, police said.
Metalsa, which employs about 1,800 workers, is an auto supplier that produces frames and other parts for Ford Expedition, Navigator and F-150 trucks.
