A Leitchfield woman allegedly under the influence of drugs has been arrested after a Grayson County deputy had to enter a pond to retrieve the female and a dog.
On Friday night at approximately 11:15, Grayson County Deputy Thomas Lane and Sgt. Jordan Jones, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the 200 block of King Road when a woman, 54-year-old Donna G. Sisk, trespassed and entered a pond with a dog and refused to leave.
Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with Sisk, “who was in a pond treading water while holding a dog,” according to the arrest citation.
“Sisk,” the citation states, “was making incoherent statements and talking with people who were not there.”
Deputies attempted to compel Sisk to exit the pond for an “extended period of time,” but with no success. Jones then “entered the pond in water up to his chest to extract Sisk …” the citation states.
Once Sisk was out of the water, she resisted deputies before being placed under arrest.
She was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for medical clearance and then lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where she was charged with second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, public intoxication (excludes alcohol), second-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal trespassing, and resisting arrest.
The citation lists Sisk’s hometown as “unknown.” In previous arrests (for non-payment of fines) in Hardin County in February and April 2019, her hometown was listed as Sonora, according to online records. Her social media account, which appears to have been inactive since October 2021, states that she currently lives in Leitchfield.
