The Leitchfield Fire Department turned out in force to the report of a fire at Captain D’s.

Tuesday morning at approximately 1:30, the Leitchfield Fire and Police Departments, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and EMS responded to the restaurant at 719 South Main Street in Leitchfield.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders observed smoke coming from the restaurant.

LFD personnel made entry into the building and encountered dense smoke, but no fire. Upon further investigation, firefighters discovered that an issue with a fryer was creating the heavy smoke.

Restaurant management was notified and arrived at the scene.

LFD ventilated the building and cleared the scene at 2:00 a.m.
