A woman has died in a crossover crash on the Western Kentucky Parkway just east of Clarkson.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1:30 near the 116-mile marker of the parkway.

The preliminary investigation, state police said, showed that 28-year-old Kelsey Dunn, of Elkton, was traveling east in a 2011 Toyota Camry during heavy rainfall when she lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median. The Camry then crashed into a westbound tractor-trailer, being driven by 28-year-old George Stup III, of Belton (Muhlenberg Co.).

Dunn was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Coroner Larry Holeman. Stup was not injured.

Also responding and assisting Kentucky State Police were the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkson Fire Department and EMS.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP accident reconstructionist, Det. Brad Holloman.

The parkway was shut down for several hours as officials worked the scene.
