A woman has been killed after a driver “failed to stop” as she turned onto the Lincoln Parkway in Elizabethtown.

Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman, Officer John Thomas, told The News-Enterprise that police responded to the crash at the intersection of Sportsman Lake Road and Lincoln Parkway Sunday morning at approximately 11:00.

Police determined the crash occurred when a Toyota RAV4 traveling west on the parkway “failed to stop” for a Toyota Highlander that was turning left from Sportsman Lake Road onto the parkway.

The woman driving the Highlander, who has not been identified, was transported to Baptist Health Hardin where she was pronounced deceased. A female juvenile passenger in the Highlander suffered minor injuries, according to the Elizabethtown newspaper.

The male driver of the RAV4, who has also not been identified, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.

The Elizabethtown PD’s Accident Reconstruction Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
