A Lincoln County restaurant employee has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing a coworker multiple times.
The Stanford Police Department responded Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4:30 to the report of a stabbing at Dairy Queen, at 1002 Lancaster Street, according to media reports.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered 20-year-old Rachel Sanchez had stabbed a female coworker several times. The victim was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to an unknown medical facility.
An employee who attempted to stop the assault suffered a minor injury and did not require medical attention.
Sanchez, who remained at the scene until police arrived, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault. She was lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail.
