A Breckinridge County man has been jailed after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit through three counties.

Saturday morning just after midnight, the Irvington Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 on westbound Hwy 60, according to a report by WXBC.com. Upon making contact with the driver, 30-year-old Tyrel D. Savage, an argument ensued over the officer executing a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Savage fled the stop, as speeds reached between 80 and 100 miles per hour as the chase wound through Garfield and McQuady. Savage, when the pursuit neared Hardinsburg, tossed something out of his window. He then brake-checked a pursuing officer, causing damage to the cruiser.

The chase continued through Fordsville before ending on Hwy 69 in Hancock County where Savage was arrested.

He was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, flee or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, identity theft, and resisting arrest along with several moving and non-moving violations.

Savage was lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

Along with Irvington police, participating in the chase were the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, Cloverport Police Department and Kentucky State Police.
