Student: Abby Smith
Likes Best About ECTC Leitchfield: “I really like all the great staff and faculty. It has been so much easier adjusting to college here because I feel like I am in a familiar environment.”
Future Plans: “I plan to work towards a Bachelor Degree in Business Management. I am also hoping to open my own business. I love art and being creative, so something along those lines is in my future.”
Fun Fact: “I love Spiderman! I may possibly be in love with Spiderman!! (HAHAHA)”
Staff Says: “When I select a Student of the Month, I am looking for a student who demonstrates strong interest and understanding in their subject matter and is willing to apply what they have learned. It is an added blessing to witness a student who is willing to go above and beyond what is asked of a regular classroom setting. That is why I chose Abby Smith. Abby’s Principles of Marketing class was tasked with creating promotional items for the ECTC Leitchfield Campus 10 Year Celebration. In addition to helping her team, Abby also created a unique logo design for her team to use on their materials. She provided multiple iterations to conform to the KCTCS branding guidelines, each time reworking her group’s submissions. In addition, she recorded an excellent video for the celebration. Abby is always engaged in class, challenging herself and others in a fun and competitive environment. She is a strong leader and a delight to have in class. I expect she will continue to excel when she transfers to finish her business degree.” ~ JoNell Henderson, Math Instructor.
