A death investigation is underway in Lincoln County.
Two adults were found deceased on Tuesday by a neighbor at a home on Waters Cemetery Road in the Kings Mountain area of the county. The neighbor went to the home because the couples’ car had not moved from the driveway in several days, WKYT.com reports.
When the neighbor opened the door to the home, the neighbor noted an odor before finding a deceased female in the living room. A man was then found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound in the bathroom.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told the Lexington television station that the deaths were likely a result of a murder-suicide. The county coroner, though, said he’s not certain that’s the case, as he is unsure how the woman died.
Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation.
