20-year-old charged in DUI crash in Owensboro that killed one person, police asking public for info on crash

One person has died, two were severely injured and a 20-year-old man charged in a DUI crash in Owensboro.

The Owensboro Police Department said first responders were dispatched to the multiple vehicle crash in the 3400 block of Old Hartford Road (Hwy 298) Friday night at approximately 9:10.

While officials offered no details on the wreck itself, police said 20-year-old Maddox A. Hall (police say he’s from Utica, the jail says he’s from Owensboro), was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol, DUI (aggravating circumstances), four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid with death or serious injury.

The names of those injured and killed have not been released.

The Owensboro Police Department Accident Reconstruction team worked the scene. The wreck remains under investigation and authorities asked that anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Owensboro Police Department at 270-687-8888 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.

Hall is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
