One person has been killed and another injured in a boating accident on Lake Cumberland.
Russell County Search and Rescue (RCSS) said first responders were dispatched to Lake Cumberland near Cemetery Island at approximately 1:30 Saturday morning. Upon arriving, they found that a boat, containing two people, had struck a rock wall.
One of the boaters was rescued and “received immediate medical attention for injuries sustained during the accident,” according to RCSS, but the other boater, 36-year-old Anthony Williams, of Lexington, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
