Shots fired near UK campus

University of Kentucky students were alerted early Monday morning of shots fired near the campus.

UK warned students and faculty to avoid Winnie Street at approximately 1:45 Monday morning after a report of shots fired in the area. Winnie Street is on the west side of the Lexington campus, near the J. David Rosenberg College of Law.

The university emailed an “all clear” message at approximately 1:54 a.m., according to WKYT.com.

Details of the events that precipitated the alert have not been released.
