A child has been killed in an ATV crash in Jackson County.
The accident occurred Saturday morning at approximately 11:40 near Hwy 397 in Jackson when 19-year-old Makayla Marshall, of Florence, was driving on private property and lost control of an ATV, ejecting her five-year-old female passenger, according to Kentucky State Police.
The child was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Marshall was transported to Kentucky River Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Both ATV occupants were wearing helmets, state police said.
