A Scottsville man has been arrested with pounds of methamphetamine and an ounce of cocaine.

Kentucky State Police, the Scottsville Police Department and Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force arrested John E. Marks following a traffic stop on I-65 in Simpson County where Scottsville PD K-9 Officer Morgan alerted on Marks’ vehicle.

During a search, police located 20 pounds methamphetamine, one ounce of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force

The arrest, police said, was the result of a six-month investigation.

Marks was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, cocaine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.
