The Leitchfield Fire Department was dispatched to a car fire near the 98-mile marker of the eastbound Western Kentucky Parkway on Saturday.
On Saturday night at approximately 6:15, firefighters initially responded to vehicle fire involving a Chevrolet Equinox.
Just after firefighters arrived at the scene, an accident took place on the eastbound parkway about a half-mile west from the car fire.
The crash happened when the male driver lost control of a Toyota Camry. The vehicle got sideways in the roadway and left the parkway, striking an embankment head-on and appearing to roll over at least once. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels on the parkway’s shoulder.
The driver was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS with facial injuries, as it appeared his head struck the windshield.
The car fire was quickly extinguished and none of the occupants, who were from Hardin County, suffered injuries.
Grayson County Deputy Caleb Owens worked both scenes.
