A Butler County man has been busted by Kentucky State Police with fentanyl pills and a “gallon bag containing suspected mushrooms.”

Trooper Brent Davis arrested 27-year-old Tyler Potts, of Morgantown, after conducting a traffic stop as the suspect drove a Chevrolet Malibu. Police did not release where the stop was made.

Potts, though, was allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his fourth such offense, according to KSP.

During a search of the Chevy, Davis “located a plastic bag containing several blue suspected Fentanyl pills, a gallon bag containing suspected mushrooms, a large cylinder containing suspected marijuana, several pipes and bongs, scales, and a plastic container with THC wax inside,” state police said.

Potts was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), trafficking in marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogenic mushrooms), DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, and no license in possession.

He was lodged in the Butler County Jail.

Potts, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, has been convicted three times for possession of methamphetamine, and once for trafficking in methamphetamine. Those convictions came in Butler and Warren counties. He is on parole until August 2027.
