Hosparus Health Central Kentucky, which is in “great need for volunteers in the Grayson County area,” will host a Volunteer Information Event at the Grayson County Public Library on Thursday, according to the agency’s Central Kentucky Volunteer Manager Annette Jones.

Hosparus Health is a nonprofit organization that offers hospice and palliative care support to patients and families facing serious illnesses in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, and Meade counties.

Attendees at Thursday’s event will have an opportunity to learn about the various volunteer positions available, ranging from companionship visits, veteran recognition programs and helping at the Hosparus Health Thrift Shoppe in Elizabethtown.

“Come and meet people who do incredibly rewarding volunteer work,” Jones said. “Our volunteers are compassionate people who lend an understanding ear and caring heart to patients and families at a difficult time in their lives. We invite everyone interested in making a difference to join us and explore the rewarding opportunities available.”

The Volunteer Information Event is Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“Hosparus Health provides volunteers with training and ongoing support,” Jones said. “We hope you’ll mark your calendars and join us on March 14 at the Grayson County Public Library to learn more.”

For those unable to attend the event, but who are interested in volunteering, Annette Jones can be reached at 270-304-2330 or ajones@hosparus.org. Training dates for new volunteers are scheduled based on demand. Volunteers must meet certain health requirements before starting.
