Former Hardin Co. volunteer firefighter pleads guilty to sexually assaulting girl, possession of child pornography

A Hardin County volunteer firefighter has pled guilty to multiple child sex and child pornography charges.

William Nickoson, 26, a former member of the Vine Grove Fire Department, pled guilty to sodomy, possession of child pornography and use of a minor in a sexual performance, according to The News Enterprise.

Nickoson was arrested by Kentucky State Police in May 2023 for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl enrolled in a junior firefighter program. The incident took place at a residence in May 2022.

The plea agreement also states that between June 2022 and May 2023, Nickoson engaged in sexual contact with a child younger than 18.

According to a plea deal reached with prosecutors, Nickoson was given a 12-year prison sentence.

Formal sentencing is schedule for May 28.
