An Irvington man has been arrested after being accused of spraying a liquid mixture at four deputies inside the Breckinridge County Justice Center, injuring multiple officers.

Kentucky State Police and the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after the suspect, 31-year-old Christopher R. Pascoe, who was wearing a military tactical vest and gas mask, entered the courthouse at approximately 10:30 Tuesday morning and sprayed a mixture of rubbing alcohol, black pepper and Tabasco sauce at four deputies, according to state police.

The deputies were transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital and were alert and in good condition, police said.

Pascoe was captured after fleeing and fighting with law enforcement and, based on his charges, either gaining control or attempting to gain control of an officer’s weapon. During the course of the suspect’s arrest, a Breckinridge County deputy suffered a hand injury.

Pascoe was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but was lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center at 11:34 Tuesday night.

He was charged with criminal use of a noxious substance, disarming a peace officer, kidnapping (adult), second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest, second-degree terroristic threatening, and menacing.

The Breckinridge County Justice Center is located at 111 South 2nd Street in Hardinsburg. The building was evacuated following Pascoe spraying the deputies.
