Sen. Steve Meredith was recently presented with an award for his advocacy of rural healthcare.
Meredith, R-Leitchfield, was recently presented with the 2024 Legislative Advocate of the Year award from the Kentucky Rural Health Association (KRHA).
The KRHA is dedicated to educating providers and consumers on rural health issues and advocating actions by private and public leaders to ensure equitable access to healthcare for rural Kentuckians, officials said. Since its founding in 1999, the KRHA has been a leading voice in addressing the unique challenges faced by rural communities in accessing quality healthcare.
Meredith said he is deeply grateful for this recognition and remains committed to working alongside the Kentucky Rural Health Association to continue advocating for improved healthcare access for all Kentuckians, especially those in rural areas.
