An eastern Kentucky man has been arrested after strangling a child and shooting a gun at a vehicle containing the child and the mother.
Kentucky State Police arrested 41-year-old Micheal Harris, of Pikeville, after he strangled a 10-year-old child and fired a gun at a vehicle as his girlfriend (the child’s mother) was trying to leave the home with the child.
When police arrived at the residence on Ziegler Drive, officers found Harris on the back porch. During a search of Harris and the residence, police located fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center he’s been charged with first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault (child abuse), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
