An Ohio County man has been jailed after deputies served a warrant at a known drug house in McHenry.

Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said deputies were recently conducting surveillance on an address in McHenry for “narcotic activity. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with expired tags that left the address.

“The traffic stop further confirmed that there were illegal narcotics inside the residence,” Wright stated.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on February 1, a search warrant was executed at the home by deputies and Kentucky State Police where methamphetamine, a firearm and drug paraphernalia were found.

Police arrested Joanus Holdbrook, 21, and charged him with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The drug charges are enhanced due to the presence of a firearm.

Holdbrook was also served with felony warrants out of Daviess and Ohio counties. He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
