A fire has destroyed a residence on Kefauver Road.
Friday night at approximately 9:45, the Leitchfield Fire Department was dispatched to the 1800 block of Kefauver Road on the report of a mobile home on fire.
Upon firefighters arriving on the scene, the right side of the residence was fully engulfed in flames. LFD personnel entered the burning home and battled the blaze from inside, while initially being accosted by upset family members.
Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Erik Franklin arrived and alleviated the tense situation.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
It appears, according to initial information, that the fire began in a wood-burning stove.
There were no injuries reported and LFD cleared the scene, after conducting an overhaul (checking for hotspots), at 11:15 p.m.
