An elderly Barren County woman has been killed in a three-vehicle accident.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:30 in the 6000 block of North Jackson Highway (Hwy 31-E), about 12 miles north of Glasgow.
State police said the preliminary investigation showed that 20-year-old Rylee Gibbons, of Glasgow, was driving a Hyundai Elantra south when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound Nissan Rogue, being driven by 58-year-old Jennifer Hishmeh, of Glasgow.
Mania Johnson, 32, of Glasgow, was driving a northbound Jeep Cherokee and collided with the Nissan following the initial collision, police said.
Alveda Jessie, 80, of Cave City, a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren Co. Coroner’s Office.
The others involved in the accident were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
The investigation is being led by KSP Det. Allen Shirley.
