Four people, including a toddler and baby, have died in a residential fire in Casey County.

Kentucky State Police Post 15 said troopers responded Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:30 to Hwy 837 in the Bethelridge community in Casey County, near the Pulaski County line. Police said fire departments from Casey, Lincoln, and Pulaski counties also responded to the scene. Fire departments battled the blaze for about five hours.

State police said the preliminary investigation revealed emergency personnel located 29-year-old Ariel Gordon, of Lebanon, and 39-year-old Thomas Moss, of Summersville, deceased inside the residence. Two juveniles, one-year-old Mary Grace Chesser and two-year-old Sebastian Collins, were also found deceased inside the home.

The bodies of all four victims were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies and cause of death determinations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by KSP Det. Zach Scott.
