The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force and Hart County Sheriff’s Office seized over two pounds of cocaine and 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine during a drug trafficking investigation.
Authorities on Wednesday executed a search warrant at 1230 LeGrande Highway, about four miles east of Horse Cave.
“The search warrant was subsequent to an ongoing investigation into the drug trafficking organization of Dillon J. Maxey,” according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search, police seized over two pounds of cocaine, 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 4.6 ounces of marijuana, a handgun, and over $8,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Maxey, 29, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine, methamphetamine), acquiring property from income derived from trafficking in controlled substances, trafficking in marijuana, inadequate silencer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Assisting the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force and Hart County Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing investigation are Kentucky State Police and the Columbia Area High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force (which is part of the Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force).
