A man found guilty of killing an Ohio County man has been sentenced.
Aaron McQuady, 35, of Sebree, was found guilty of shooting and killing Matthew Wallace, of Rockport, and shooting Wallace’s brother, Christopher Wallace, of Rockport, on March 5, 2022.
McQuady was located at his residence by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office the day after the shooting and arrested.
The trial began on Monday, January 8, in an Ohio County courtroom and ended Thursday with McQuady being found guilty of intentional murder, first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, four counts of second-degree wanton endangerment, two counts of menacing, and three counts of tampering with physical evidence.
Following the victim’s impact statements, the jury recommended McQuady serve life in prison without the possibility of parole. Formal sentencing is scheduled for February 6.
