A Breckinridge County man has been killed in a shooting in Meade County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded Sunday evening at approximately 10:10 to the report of a shooting at a residence on Mountain Lane, about three miles north of Flaherty.
The preliminary investigation showed that 51-year-old David S. Gex, of Vine Grove, called 911 and stated he shot 59-year-old Richard Hernandez, of Irvington, during a verbal altercation, according to state police.
Hernandez was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner’s Office.
Gex was arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by KSP Det. Joey Beasley.
