A Madisonville man with five felony convictions has been accused of raping a juvenile.
The Madisonville Police Department told news outlets that a tip was recently received indicating that 39-year-old Ryan Christopher Bryant had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
The investigation, police said, showed that Bryant raped the girl at a residence on Springlake Street on December 23, 2023.
Bryant was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree rape. He is being held in the Hopkins County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Bryant has been convicted in Hopkins County five times since June 2020. Three of the convictions were for trafficking in a controlled substance (two for methamphetamine, the other for synthetic drugs), fleeing or evading police (on foot) and tampering with physical evidence.
He is on probation until July 2025.
