Three Beaver Dam residents were arrested on drug and other charges after a vehicle fled from police in Ohio County.

Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said that on Saturday night at approximately 11:10 deputies made contact with a Ford Explorer traveling south on Hwy 231 in excess of 100 miles per hour. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver, 31-year-old Zakry Baize, of Beaver Dam, fled south on Hwy 231.

The vehicle eventually stopped at the intersection of Hwy 231 and Placid Lane in Beaver Dam.

A K-9 officer was deployed, Wright said, and detected drugs in the vehicle.

During a search, police located methamphetamine and “associated paraphernalia,” according to Wright.

Baize and his two passengers, 31-year-old Erin Baize and 42-year-old Michael Lindsey, both of Beaver Dam, were arrested. All three were charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Zakry Baize was additionally charged with fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, reckless driving, driving on a suspended operator’s license, and failure to surrender a revoked license.

All three suspects were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.

The Beaver Dam Police Dept. assisted at the scene.
